Bvlgari really IS a Bulgarian descent family. It is an old family from Epir (Corfu). The founder of the family is Eleasar – “Prince of Bulgaria”.
During the 16-th century, the family was listed in the Golden Book of Nobles in Kerkira (Corfu), and during the 18-th – in the Book of Nobles of Venice.
From 15-th to 18-th century, the family was known as a manufacturer of fine, silver jewels, of Filigran.
Later, in 1877, Sotirios Bulgaris emigrates from Paramitia to Italy. You know the rest from Wikipedia.
